Barium Chloride Dihydrate is mainly used in the purification of Brine solution in caustic chlorine plants, in the manufacture of heat treatment salts, case hardening of steel, in the manufacture of pigments, in the manufacture of other Barium Salts, Blanc Fix, Barium Hydroxide, etc. It is also used as flux in the manufacture of magnesium metal, making color kinescope, magnetic materials, fluorescent glass, ceramics, etc.

Physicochemical Properties: White crystalline or granular powder. Taste a little bitter and salty. It has hygroscopic. In 100°C gesso lost, but absorb two gesso again when placed in wet air. It is soluble in water easily, and is able to dissolve in methanol, not soluble in ethanol, ethyl acetate and acetone. Specific Density 3.86, Melting Point: 963°C. Refractive index: 1.635.Toxic medium, LD50: 118 mg/kg (with no gesso plan).

Applications and Usages: Determination of sulfate and selenium acid salt, chromatographic analysis, intravenous drip determination platinum, soft agent. It used as materials to manufacture barium salts. Also used as pesticides, rayon extinction agent and manufacturing color pigment and barium deposit.
